Learning

Our program is underscored by the philosophy of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines, which in turn is based on the Early Years Learning Framework and it is designed around child-initiated experiences that are developmentally appropriate. We ensure children maintain ownership of their learning by empowering them to make choices and decisions.

Here at Bulimba Kindy we operate play-based programs to cater to each individual child. We work within the parameters of the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guidelines (QKLG), which aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

Play

PLAY is a context for learning that:

  • Allows for the expression of personality and uniqueness;

  • Enhances dispositions such as curiosity and creativity;

  • Enables children to make connections between prior experiences and new learning;

  • Assists children to develop relationships and concepts; and

  • Stimulates a sense of well being.

Reconciliation Action Plan:

Bulimba Kindy recognises the childrens' connection to their community is essential to their sense of belonging and we play a role in cultivating relationships within the wider community.
